Revival of film tourism in Kashmir returning to the era of 1980s: J&K LG

Srinagar (IANS). Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that over 300 films and TV serials have been shot in Kashmir after the new film policy was launched two years ago, leading to a revival of film tourism in the union territory.

Manoj Sinha on Friday inaugurated the first day’s shooting of TV serial ‘Pashmina’ (the thread used to weave traditional Kashmiri shawls) at Zero Bridge in Srinagar.

On this occasion, he said that Jammu and Kashmir is once again emerging as a favorite film destination.

“The era of 1980s is returning when Hollywood and Bollywood films were shot in Kashmir.”

Manoj Sinha said, “The revival of film tourism will help in growing the economy of J&K and provide livelihood opportunities to the youth.”
