2 dead in road accident in Odisha’s Jajpur district

Jajpur: In a tragic incident, two people died in a road accident in Odisha’s Jajpur district. The accident occurred on National Highway Number 16 near Mulapala Chakka under Kuakhia police limits of the district.

According to sources, one truck stopped on the road due to some mechanical issue. Following the mechanical issue, the driver of the truck called mechanics to repair it. On receiving information, two mechanics came to repair the truck. While the mechanic and the driver of the truck were below the truck for repairing work, another vehicle hit the ill-fated vehicle from behind.

Following the incident, the two people died on the spot while two other were critically injured. The locals present on the spot, immediately rushed the injured to the nearby hospitals.

On being informed police reached the spot, seized the bodies and sent them for autopsy. The cops have also initiated a probe into the matter.
