Hun Manet became the new Prime Minister of Cambodia
Phnom Penh (IANS). Cambodia’s National Assembly on Tuesday confirmed Hun Manet as the new prime minister for a five-year term. His ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) won a landslide victory in the 23 July general election. This information was given in the media report.
Around 123 lawmakers voted for him to be the new prime minister, Xinhua news agency reported.
The National Assembly consists of 125 MPs. These include 120 from the CPP and five from the royalist Funsinpek party.
