Leaders Use PM Modi’s Visit to Target BJP Figures

Bengaluru: Amidst the backdrop of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bengaluru to extend felicitations to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientists on the triumph of Chandrayaan-3, a display of political dynamics unfolded. Congress leaders, including Priyank Kharge and Ramesh Babu, seized the occasion to take a satirical swipe at senior BJP figures.
Prominent BJP figures, including Nalin Kumar Kateel, the state president, Tejasvi Surya, the Member of Parliament for Bengaluru South, and MLAs such as Munirathna, R Ashoka, and K Gopalaiah, were observed gesturing their acknowledgment to PM Modi from their position behind the barricades, which were positioned to manage the crowd.
Seizing the moment to make a pointed comment, Priyank Kharge, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister, offered his perspective on the situation, quipping, “Despite their political and ideological differences, it’s a pitiable sight to witness Karnataka BJP leaders standing as barricaded onlookers before the Prime Minister. This spectacle is a reflection of their diminished self-esteem and self-respect. Does this not raise questions about their capability to lead as the ‘Leader of the Opposition,’ when their own high command appears to hold them in low regard? What we are witnessing is the BJP becoming a victim of its own authoritarian approach. Their actions not only demean their own stature but also insult the electorate, the people of Karnataka, and the diligent workers.”
Ramesh Babu, a Congress spokesperson, echoed a similar sentiment, noting that this level of degradation is typically associated with dictatorial regimes.
“This kind of tragedy you can see in Dictator rule only! Karnataka State BJP president MLA’S Ex Ministers reduced to a dog’s situation at Modi Banglore visit! Culture of self respect gone in so called BJP RSS! Jai Modi!”, Babu’ Tweeted.
