New chapter in train operation: Automatic signaling system

Raipur: With the changing times, using modern technology, South East Central Railway has also made changes in its signal system. In this sequence, Automatic Block Signaling System is now being used. In the Automatic Block Signaling System, signals are installed at a fixed distance between two stations. In the new system, signals have been installed about one to one and a half kilometers ahead of the advance starter signal of the station yard. As a result, trains keep following each other with the help of signals. If for some reason there is a technical fault in the signal ahead, then the trains running behind will also get the information. The trains will remain wherever they are and will stop there.

At times, the halt of more than one train in the same direction on these sections leads to confusion for the passengers, especially when it comes to a MEMU train which has engines attached to both the front and rear, or a goods train which also has a banking engine attached to the rear. Is. Due to the stoppage of these trains, it appears that their engines have come face to face. Especially when the train in front stops, the train behind it follows the signal and stops behind it according to a certain distance. There is an automatic signaling system at Bilaspur station of South Eastern Railway and its three directions up to Dadhapara, Chakarbhata, Bilha, Uslapur, Ghutku, Gataura, Jairamnagar, due to which many trains keep running simultaneously one after the other in these sections. With the implementation of the Automatic Block Signal System, trains run one behind the other on the same route at an interval of one km. Due to this, the speed as well as the number of trains on the railway lines has increased. At the same time, to leave a train standing anywhere, one does not have to wait for the train running ahead to reach the next station. Green signal is received as soon as the train moves from the station yard, that is, in a block section, another train runs smoothly. Along with this, information about the location of trains is available. The implementation of the automatic signal system has brought multifaceted benefits. On one hand this is increasing the speed of vehicles, on the other hand it is also much less expensive in terms of cost. Earlier, copper cables were used which used to cost more. Nowadays optical fiber cables are being installed which are less expensive and there is no fear of theft. These are ring protected cables which do not get damaged easily. Thus, there is a plan to implement automatic signal system with this type of optical fiber cable in all the important railway sections of South East Central Railway, so that more output can be achieved at less cost and at the same time the speed of trains can also be increased. yes.
