Shock to Chhattisgarh BJP, former MLA candidate joins Congress
Raipur: There are still months left for the assembly elections, but efforts have already started to change the party and serve their own interests. In the past days, there was large scale defection in both the Congress and BJP parties. So the same many social workers and retired officers and employees also started their new political innings. Meanwhile, the Congress has given a big blow to the Chhattisgarh state BJP today.
In fact, Shyam Tandi, who had contested the last 2018 assembly elections on BJP ticket, has joined Congress. Shyam Tandi was the BJP candidate from Saraipali in 2018 but he had to face defeat at the hands of his nearest Congress candidate Kismat Lal Nand by a margin of more than 52 votes. Today, in the presence of state Congress chief Deepak Baij at Rajiv Bhawan, Shyam Tandi joined the Congress and expressed his commitment to follow the traditions and policies of the party.
However, there has been no response from the BJP on Shyam Tandi’s change of party. It is being told that there were speculations about Shyam Tandi for a long time that he might defect. Shyam Tandi stood second in the Saraipali assembly elections.
