BJD protest in Angul, block National Highway for 2 hours
Angul: BJD has started a two-hour protest today. The district BJD has blocked the national highway for two hours as a protest against the poor condition of the national highways and the unjust policy of MCL displacement.
Biju Janata Dal said that the state of highways passing through Angul district has become deplorable in the last few years.
Because of which many lives have been lost. Even then, the National Highways Department turning a blind eye to this. Meanwhile, MCL is causing hardship to the landless people of Angul district. Whether it is the 2006 policy or the 2013 policy of the central government, it does not solve the problem.
Due to which the landless people are in a lot of trouble. People have been displaced for 30 years and they are not being resettled till today. MCL never does visible CSR work. Due to the increase in pollution in Talcher area, people are suffering from deadly diseases like heart, kidney and cancer.
MCL does not take any notice of this. For this reason, District BJD has organized a two-hour national highway blockade from 8 am to 10 am in the morning at Raja Chaka. Even after today’s agitation, both the National Highways Department and the MCL have been warned that if they do not act in the interest of the people, they will be held responsible for the future consequences.
