Rajnandgaon: A large number of villagers of Gram Panchayat Jora Tarai (M) reached Somani police station today to take action against the increasing number of illegal liquor sellers in the village. The villagers met police station in-charge Somani and told that the following persons are selling liquor illegally in village Joratarai (M) under Gram Panchayat Joratarai, in relation to which the decision was taken in resolution number 28 of the Gram Panchayat meeting dated 31 July 2023. It has been taken that a letter has been sent to take strict action against the said persons and to take raid (catch) action. The villagers told that Tikuram Nishad father Sukhdev Nishad, Yashwant Sahu father Alkharam Sahu, Kunti Bai husband Lekhram Sen and unknown Individuals are illegally selling liquor and betting on Rasmada Marg. Therefore, a demand has been made to raid the following persons and take action. If action is not taken, the area residents have warned of violent agitation.
