Government school teacher commits suicide, jumps into well after hearing news of son’s death

Thiruvananthapuram: After hearing the news of her son’s death, a government school teacher committed suicide by jumping into a well. According to the information, the woman’s son M. Sajjin was a student of veterinary medicine in Wayanad. He met with an accident on Tuesday evening, in which he died.

When this news came to light, close relatives of Sheeja Begum, a resident of Nedumgadu on the outskirts of the capital, decided to go to Wayanad. However, he did not tell Shija about her son’s death. Asked him to stay at his close relative’s house. On Tuesday night, Shija came to know about her son’s death through Facebook, after which she committed suicide by jumping into the well of the house where she was staying. The family has now decided to perform the last rites of mother and son together.
