UP: All 72 departments will have to spend Rs 15 thousand crores in 22 days, released
The government has expressed concern over the miserliness of the departments. All departments have been instructed to spend as much as possible. He has been given a target to spend Rs 15 thousand crore in 22 days. In this regard, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Deepak Kumar has issued instructions to all 72 departments on Friday.
The government believes that capital expenditure paves the way for infrastructure and development, thereby creating employment opportunities. A provision of about Rs 1.47 lakh crore has been made for capital expenditure in this financial year. According to the report received from the treasury, only Rs 23,348 crore has been spent on capital expenditure till August, which is only 23 percent of the budget for this item. The government has expressed concern over such low expenditure. Because less expenditure will affect the special assistance received from the Centre.
To promote capital expenditure, the Center has issued this scheme for the states. Under this, interest free loan is given for 50 years. Rs 17,939 crore has been allocated to UP under this scheme. Out of this, the state has received Rs 11660 crore. Now to get the remaining amount, the state government will have to spend Rs 37,415 crore from the budget earmarked for capital expenditure till September, whereas Rs 23,348 crore has been spent. Now only 22 days are left and the government has to spend about Rs 15 thousand crores.
Only after this the Central Government will release the remaining Rs 6 thousand crores to the State Government. In view of this, the Finance Minister has given strict instructions that all departments should spend at least 50 percent of the allocated budget this month.
