Liquor was hidden in sacks, police raided the seller’s house
Balodabazar: The police and excise department teams are continuously taking action regarding the upcoming assembly elections. Meanwhile, Collector Chandan Kumar had recently reprimanded the Excise Department and directed to take strict action against illegal liquor traders. After the Collector’s displeasure, the Excise Department raided the house in Palari police station area. Where non-scanned Goa foreign liquor kept in five sacks hidden in the courtyard of the house was seized. Also the accused has been arrested. The value of the seized liquor is said to be around Rs 80 thousand.
Giving information about the case, Excise Assistant Commissioner Vikas Goswami said that information about illegal liquor was received from the informer. Based on information, a house in village Sundari police station Palari was raided. During this, the house and courtyard of accused Omprakash Saitode were duly searched. From where liquor was seized in 5 big sacks. 100-100 bottles of Goa foreign liquor were seized in each bag. In the case, Section 34(1)(a) 34(2) 36 of Chhattisgarh Excise Act 1915 has been registered against the accused; The case of Section 59(a) has been established and taken into consideration. The accused is being interrogated further.
