Those who stole bars were arrested, caught loading them into the vehicle
Bhilai: Two water tanks collapsed in Sector 4 in Bhilai on Tuesday. Due to this, people in the area have started facing a lot of water problems. Meanwhile, work is being done continuously to remove debris from the tank. A gang of thieves were stealing the bars that came out of the debris late at night. Police have taken 4 people into custody in the case. Two minors are also included in these.
In fact, on September 5, two water tanks suddenly collapsed simultaneously in Sector 4 of Bhilai. Water was supplied to 3000 houses from both the tanks. The capacity of both the tanks was 18-18 lakh litres. Maintenance of the tanks was not being done for a long time. This is the reason why the tank collapsed due to it being dilapidated. After this the water problem in the area increased considerably. Meanwhile, the work of removing debris was going on continuously.
Bhatti police station in-charge said that four people have been arrested for stealing rebar from the debris. Ajay Nayak, Temsingh Sahu and 2 minors have been arrested. The water tank had collapsed on September 5. Which was dismantled and the rods were taken out and kept nearby. The accused were carrying around 300 kg of rebar loaded in the vehicle. During interrogation, all four confessed to the crime.
