Truck thief arrested, police chased and caught him

Durg: Police have recovered the stolen truck from near Utai petrol pump. On the basis of CCTV footage, the police arrested the accused from Dhamtari and also seized the truck from his possession. Even before this, the accused had gone to jail in the case of vehicle theft in Bhilai Bhatti, Ranitarai and Jamgaon R police station areas of Durg district.

Patan SDOP Devansh Singh Rathore said that on September 10, HUDCO resident Ranjit Swai (55) had filed a complaint of truck theft. Told that his driver had brought the truck on the evening of 9 September. He had parked it at Mittal Raj Petrol Pump in Mudpar. When he went the next morning and looked, Hiva was not there.

Utai police registered a complaint and started investigation. Utai police station in-charge Kapil Dev Pandey sent a team to inspect the incident site. After this saw the CCTV footage of petrol pump Mudpar. In this a suspect was seen roaming around the petrol pump. Saw the truck being taken towards Patan. After this the police chased the accused. The police team chased the truck and reached Dahidih police station Kurud. When we looked at the CCTV footage there, the accused was seen roaming there in a suspicious state. The police immediately reached the place, surrounded him and detained him. When interrogated, the accused told that he had hidden the stolen truck and parked it on the bank of a drain. The accused was identified as Nagesh Yadav (25), resident of Bhansuli police station Jamgaon R district Durg.
