65 Congressmen arrested, protesting against railways
Janjgir: In Janjgir Champa, Congress protested against the Railways at the district headquarters. Also, Janjgir was seen protesting in front of Naila Railway Station and raising slogans. The agitators tried to enter inside the station to stop the train. Here too there was a scuffle between the agitators and the police. After which the police have arrested about 65 people involved in the movement.
When the police stopped the Congressmen at the gate of the railway station in Gaurela Pendra Marwahi district, Congress workers started raising slogans. Despite being stopped by the police, Congress members under the leadership of Youth Commission members and District Congress President Uttam Vasudev were protesting in front of Pendra Road Railway Station.
Marwahi MLA Dr. KK Dhruv was also present at the protest. Although the Congressmen were not able to stop even a single train here, after the demonstration which started from 1:30 pm, the police RPF and GRP team stopped the Congressmen at the gate of the railway station and the Congressmen kept sitting there and shouting slogans. During this time, Narmada Express going from Bilaspur to Indore left for Bina. Only after the departure of the train, the Congressmen were somehow able to enter the railway station and sat on the tracks in a symbolic demonstration. Talking to the media about this, District Congress President Uttam Vasudev said that if the operation of passenger trains is not started on this route soon, then goods trains will be stopped in the future.
