Asif Sheikh becomes Qawwal in ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’
Mumbai (IANS). Actor Asif Sheikh, who plays the role of Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in the superhit TV show ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’, will be seen in a new avatar. The actor will play the role of a Qawwal in the upcoming episode.
The actor shared that it happens that his character of Vibhuti uses both his hands to kill mosquitoes in the market. During this, a beggar comes to Vibhuti and praises him for clapping like a Qawwali singer.
He convinces Vibhuti to sing and tells that he was once a famous Qawwal. The beggar also offers to teach him Qawwali.
Upon returning home, Vibhuti tells David Cha-Cha (Anoop Upadhyay) about the incident and says that Angoori (Shubhangi Atre) likes qawwali.
“He decides to learn qawwali from a beggar and assembles a team of Tika (Vaibhav Mathur), Tilu (Salim Zaidi) and Saxena (Sanand Verma),” the actor said.
Talking about his part in the show, Asif further said, “My character in the track is full of humour. In the beginning, I had to struggle a lot to find the right balance of raga, rhythm and taal. However, I overcame this challenge by watching many Qawwali videos one after the other on YouTube. This practice improved my performance significantly.”
Praising the team of the show, he said, “I must commend the team for creating a perfect ‘Mehfil’ on the set with perfect lighting, curtains and musical instruments. We enjoyed practicing and rehearsing many songs and playing musical instruments like harmonium and tabla.”
‘Qawwali Night’ of ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ will air this week on &TV.
