Those who stole Rs 67 lakh from ATM arrested
Durg: Police have arrested two accused who looted Rs 67 lakh by hacking three SBI ATMs in the district on August 27. Both the accused have been arrested from Mewat, Haryana. Three accused in the case are still absconding. Durg police is busy searching for them. Soon those accused will also be arrested. Police have recovered Rs 3 lakh cash from the arrested accused.
Let us tell you that on the night of 27th August, a gang of 5 people had together targeted two SBI ATMs in HUDCO and one SBI ATM in Borsi area of Durg. The accused had come with a gas cutter to cut the ATM. They first went inside the ATM and blackened the CCTV cameras installed by spraying them. After this, the ATM was cut with the help of a gas cutter. After this, they took the cash kept inside and while leaving, set the entire ATM on fire.
When the police investigated the matter, they found out that the Mewat gang was involved in it. Durg SP Shalabh Kumar Sinha immediately formed four different teams. He himself monitored the team. A team of Durg police camped there for 8 days. After several days of recce, they arrested two accused from Mewat and recovered Rs 3 lakh in cash from them, but the main three accused have not been caught yet. Police teams are still camping there to arrest them.
