8 arrested for stealing on demand luxury cars, 10 vehicles worth Rs 2.5 crore recovered
Noida: Noida Police of Uttar Pradesh has achieved a big success. Noida Police has arrested eight criminals of the vehicle theft gang, who used to steal luxury vehicles on demand. 10 luxury vehicles worth Rs 2.5 crore have been recovered from them, which were stolen from different states. Among the recovered vehicles, there are some whose numbers have not been allotted yet. Due to the joint efforts of Sector 20 and Phase-1 police station of Noida, 8 criminals of the inter-state vehicle theft gang have been arrested. 9 ECM and 1 pistol have also been recovered from them. The arrested thieves have been identified as Imran alias Tatti, Monu alias Jamshed, Farnam, Rashid alias Kala, Shahivzada, Saqib alias Gaddu, Rohit Mittal and Ranjit Singh. The mastermind of this gang is Saqib alias Gaddu.
The gang used to steal luxury cars like Fortuner, Scorpio, Innova, Creta, Baleno from Delhi-NCR and Ghaziabad. Earlier the gang members used to do recce according to the demand of the vehicles. After this, the theft was carried out by breaking the glass of the car. Had the car been a push button start? Farman and Rashid alias Kala used to connect the “key programming device” to a car and start the car by preparing a “remote key” through programming. It took the gang 3 to 4 minutes to steal the car. During this time, other members of the gang also kept an eye on the surroundings. As soon as the car started, it was called to the specified place. At least two to three vehicles were stolen in a day.
The gang prepared fake documents on demand for Fortuner 8-10 lakh, Scorpio 5-6 lakh, Creta 3-4 lakh, Brezza and Swift for Rs 1-2 lakh and sold it to Rohit Mittal, Ranjit, Bappa in Punjab, Jaipur, Used to send it to places like Hyderabad. On this whole issue, the police say that always buy second hand vehicles from authorized dealers only. Before buying a car, get a survey done and also get information about the insurance cover. If the car key does not have a remote, then do not buy the car in that case. If the vehicle’s GPS is not working, check. While buying any second hand car, confirm whether the car has two keys or not.
