Instructions to take action against responsible officers, there was an accident involving children
Korba: The High Court has rejected the petition of three Chinese officials of SEPCO company in the chimney accident that happened 14 years ago in Balco. The three officers had submitted a criminal revision in the High Court against the framing of charges by the Korba ADJ Court. The court has also ordered to prosecute the case against the responsible officials of SEPCO in the district court.
A crime was registered against the responsible officials of GDCL and SEPCO and they were arrested. After this the ADJ Court framed charges against 13 culprits. These include Chunan, Liu Jackson, Wang Qiong, project manager of Chinese contracting company SEPCO. The court has framed charges under Sections 304 and 201, in which the accused have been charged with knowingly committing acts endangering life and hiding evidence. On behalf of the government, Deputy Advocate General Madhunisha Singh presented the case in the High Court.
In this case, the police has also presented a challan in the court, in which the officials of the Chinese contract company SEPCO, sub-contract company GDCL and NCCBM, including Balco, have been charged under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code for intentionally committing an act which may cause death of someone and section 304 of the Indian Penal Code. 201 was accused of hiding evidence.
