Be vocal for local, then make it global: PM Modi
New Delhi (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is a supporter of ‘Vocal for Local’, on Sunday modified the motto by adding global to it.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of “Yashobhoomi”, an international convention center in Delhi. Here he also launched PM Vishwakarma Yojana. While addressing the people on the occasion of inauguration, PM Modi said that should not locally made products reach the global markets?
For this you will first have to become vocal for the local and then make the local global. Ganesh Chaturthi, Dhanteras, Diwali and many more festivals are coming. I urge all citizens to buy local (products) during this time.
It is the responsibility of the entire country to live up to the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign. The PM urged people to buy products, whether small or big, which are tagged with ‘Vishwakarma’ artisans.
Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi also inaugurated the extension of Delhi Airport Metro Express Line from Dwarka Sector 21 to the new metro station Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25.
The new metro station will have three subways. The first is a 735-metre long subway that will connect the station to the Exhibition Hall, Convention Center and Central Arena, the second connects the entry and exit of the Dwarka Expressway, while the third connects the metro station to the lobby of Yasobhoomi’s future exhibition hall.
Delhi Metro will increase the operating speed of metro trains on the Airport Express Line from 90 to 120 kmph, thereby reducing travel time. The journey from ‘New Delhi’ to ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ will be about 21 minutes.
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, who was present on the occasion, said that Yasobhoomi is a testament to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘skill, speed and scale’. Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi will promote trade, industry, exports and employment.
Piyush Goyal further said that Yashobhoomi will boost the MSME sector, farmers and artisans and provide new opportunities and markets for them.
