Army soldier brutally murdered, kidnapped by unknown people
Manipur. A case of kidnapping and murder of an Indian Army soldier has come to light in Manipur. This young man had come on leave. His body was found in Khuningthek village in Manipur’s Imphal East district on Sunday, officials said. The slain soldier has been identified as Sepoy Serto Thangthang Kom. He was posted in the Defense Security Corps Platoon of the Army at Limakhong in Kangpokpi. The slain soldier was a resident of Tarung in Imphal West. When the soldier was kidnapped, his innocent son was also present there. Officials said Sepoy Kom had come home on leave. In the morning, 10 unidentified armed men abducted Sepoy Kom from his house.
The only eyewitness to the incident is the jawan’s 10-year-old son. According to officials, the son told that three people entered his house. At that time he was working in the porch with his father. The armed men put a pistol to the Sepoy’s forehead, made him sit in a white vehicle and drove away from there. Army soldiers have been sent to help the family. The last rites of the deceased soldier will be performed as per the wishes of the family. It is noteworthy that the situation in Manipur is not getting better for some time now. The cycle of violence that started between the Kuki and Meitei groups is not showing any signs of stopping. After some peace in between, incidents of violence are happening again. Security personnel are also being attacked. Politics is also going on fiercely regarding this and the opposition has been attacking the government regarding Manipur.
