One Nation One Election: Law Commission To Submit Report On Wednesday
The high-level committee set to examine and make recommendations on the ‘One Nation, One Election’ will submit a report on Wednesday where the law commission will provide its final suggestions to the committee.
This comes after the committee asked all the stakeholders to give suggestions on the feasibility of simultaneous polls. After all the stakeholders will provide their suggestions to the former President Ram-Nath Kovind-led panel.
Once all the stakeholders submit their suggestions, the final rounds of meetings will then be conducted again.
The government on September 2 notified the eight-member committee to examine and make recommendations for holding simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha, state assemblies, municipalities, and panchayats.
Introductory meeting conducted
The introductory meeting of the ‘One Nation, One Election’ committee to examine and explore recommendations for holding simultaneous polls to Lok Sabha, state assemblies, municipalities, and panchayats were held Friday under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind. Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present at the meeting.
