Pilot did not arrive on time in Air India flight, passengers had to wait for 2 hours
New Delhi: Over 100 passengers aboard an Air India flight from Delhi to Pune reportedly had to wait for nearly two hours inside the plane due to the absence of the pilot. Sources at the flag carrier blamed operational issues for the delay. Flight AI853 was scheduled to depart from Delhi at 7.10 pm on Monday, with a scheduled arrival time in Pune at 9:10 pm.
However, passenger details and FlightTrader24 data indicate that the plane took off from Delhi at around 9 pm and landed in Pune at around 11 pm. The same Delhi-Pune flight was delayed once again on Tuesday. However, on this occasion, passengers continued to wait in the airport terminal building.
