Periods: For some girls, periods are a major cause of worry as they have to deal with unbearable bloating, constant cramps and extreme mood swings. All these things can cause discomfort but let’s face it, periods are a natural phenomenon. When you’re on your period, there are many activities you don’t feel like doing because of how your body feels. There are many things you should never do during your periods, not just because they don’t feel great, but also because they can harm your health or make you feel even worse. Drinking too much coffee: According to research, drinking too much coffee is bad for you. This is one of the worst things you can do during your period! The high caffeine content may increase your pain and may also contribute to breast tenderness. You may crave for caffeine but to stay healthy you definitely need to reduce your coffee intake.
Sanitary pads for the whole day: It is very common for some women to wear the same sanitary pad for the whole day, but this is very unhealthy and also causes cancer. It doesn’t matter whether you are using sanitary pads or tampons, wearing the same product for more than 4 to 6 hours will prove to be a breeding ground for bacteria and will lead to the development of foul odor.
Hair Removal: It is strictly prohibited to remove hair from your private parts during periods as this area is sensitive and the pull of the wax strips can increase your discomfort. Shaving can prove to be a very messy affair due to menstrual flow. If you get a cut due to shaving, it can lead to infection. This also causes rashes and other problems.
Do not go for breast examination: This is also one of the things that you should avoid during periods. When you’re menstruating, your body is experiencing fluctuating hormones that can lead to abnormalities. It would be better if you avoid going for breast examination.
Physical Relationship: There is a misconception that having sex during periods is unhealthy but having sex during menstruation is normal but having sex without protection during periods is a bad idea! If you are not thinking of starting a family right now, you should avoid taking the chance.
Smoking/Alcohol: Whether it is a man or a woman, having toxins is unhealthy. Smoking and alcohol are dangerous for our health but women who smoke during menstruation are more likely to experience severe pain and many other problems. In short, it can increase your menstrual pain.
Avoiding food: It is very common that we avoid food when we suffer from period pain but skipping food during your periods is not a good idea as it can seriously affect your energy levels. , making you feel lethargic and irritable. It also reduces your energy and results in dizziness.
Don’t take too much salt: Too much salt is harmful for your body and during your periods you should definitely avoid foods that have high salt content during your periods. Consuming too much sodium can cause bloating and even severe cramps.
