Violence erupted after the murder of students missing since July
Violence broke out in the state about two weeks ago after photographs of dead bodies of two Meitei students, missing since July, surfaced. On Wednesday (27 September), there were violent clashes between protesters and security forces at many places including the capital Imphal. On the night of 28 September, miscreants tried to attack the private house of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh at Luwangsangbam in Imphal East.
