Korba. The morale of thieves in the city has increased. They were committing sporadic thefts in homes, now they are not hesitating to target the temple of education also. One such case has come to light, in which thieves entered the office by cutting the latch on the door. The clever thieves made away with valuables worth around Rs 3.5 lakh, including electronic equipment, utensils and sporting goods kept in the office. Middle and primary school is run by the education department in Akal Colony under Manikpur police post. Like every day, teachers closed school on Saturday and went home. The next day, on Sunday morning, a laborer who had come to work on the construction day of the building in the school campus, looked at the office and seeing the door open, he feared something untoward. The workers informed the school principal Pathak that the office doors were open. After which, as soon as Pradhan Pathak reached the spot after receiving the news, he went into the office and saw that the shelves were open.
