Youth commits suicide by hanging due to domestic dispute
Varanasi. Umesh Mishra, 45, a ritualist scholar living in a room behind Bhagwat Vidyalaya under Bhelupur police station, ended his life by hanging himself by tying a towel to a fan. According to the information, 45-year-old Umesh Mishra, a resident of Nalanda, Bihar, used to perform puja by taking a room on rent in the house of Urmila Upadhyay, a resident of Asi, for the last two years. He also used to go and offer prayers at the place of Pandit Chandramouli Upadhyay, professor at Kashi Hindu University and member of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust.
Last night he was heard talking about drinking alcohol with his wife Sangeeta Mishra. Wife Sangeeta Mishra was very upset due to his alcoholism. There was a fight between the two at night over drinking alcohol and Umesh Mishra took out his wife and child, locked the door from inside, placed a chair on the stool and hanged himself with the help of a fan.
Wife Sangeeta Mishra told that he had become addicted to alcohol and used to spend all his earned money on alcohol, he was very upset about this and used to fight every day over this. Umesh Mishra was the second among the eight sons of Bholanath Mishra, resident of Nalanda, Bihar, while one of his brothers, Umashankar Mishra, lives nearby and does ritual work.
Brother Umashankar Mishra told that he had become very addicted to alcohol. His only son, 13-year-old Shivam Mishra, studies at Nandlal Bajoria Educational Institute of ASI. After receiving information about the incident, Bhelupur police and forensic team reached the spot and are investigating.
