The Police in J&K’s Ramban seized a huge consignment of drugs worth Rs 300 crore from two drug peddlers from Punjab.
According to the Police, the consignment included 30 kg suspected Heroin and was recovered from two drug peddlers. The two peddlers have been booked under sections 8, 21, 22, 27 and 29 of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, the police said.
Police seizes Rs 5 crore cash from drug kingpin
During a press briefing on October 12 following the drug bust, J&K DGP Dilbag Singh said that the case came to light on September 30 and the peddlers were nabbed while trying to smuggle the drugs into Punjab.
“A huge consignment of 30 Kg cocaine-like substance was seized. It was found out from where the consignment of drugs was handed over, its links were found in Kupwara. Raids were organised in Punjab’s Ludhiana from where an additional consignment was seized and the kingpin Manjeet Singh was arrested,” the DGP said.

According to the DGP, the police team in Ludhiana also seized an illegal German-made revolver along with Rs 5 crore in cash and illegal number plates of vehicles from Manjeet Singh.
He said that the substance is most likely cocaine but a report from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is awaited for confirmation. He further said that the teams are also looking into the links with Pakistan.
The DGP said that four people have been held from Kupwara under Operation Sanjeevani and he congratulated his team for the success.
