Security forces found cache of weapons in Churachandpur
Imphal: In a collaborative effort between Assam Rifles, Border Security Force (BSF) and Manipur Police, a significant cache of weapons was discovered in the remote village Gothal-Phulijung of Churachandpur.
The operation was launched based on accurate intelligence which indicated the presence of substantial stocks of arms and ammunition in the area. The search operation led by dedicated troops recovered a substantial amount of material including a 9 mm carbine gun, a tear gas gun, an improvised mortar, as well as ammunition and various war stores.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of the Red Shield Division of the Indian Army. The recovered weapons and supplies have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station for further investigation and action. Notably, during the operation, the security forces also organized a medical camp and distributed essential commodities to the residents of Gothal-Phoolijang village as part of the Civic Action Programme.
