My film is in the Rs 100 crore club, no one can take away this success: Richa Chadha
New Delhi: Bollywood actress Richa Chadha is proud of whatever she has achieved so far. He said that he is in the Rs 100 crore club and no one can take it away from him because his latest release ‘Fukrey 3’ has earned more than Rs 107.7 crore worldwide.
Speaking to IANS about the benchmark, Richa, whose iconic character of Bholi Punjaban is etched in everyone’s mind, said, “I am feeling great. I am very grateful to the producers when they chose me 10 years ago. I am also grateful to Mrigdeep Singh Lamba (director) and writer Vipul Vig for the character I have written.”
Richa told how she embraces her struggles and success.
He further said, “I am just happy that I am in the Rs 100 crore club and no one can take that away from me. I am a self-made woman. I am very proud of what I have achieved. Also the fact that I enjoyed my struggle and journey as much as I enjoy my success today.
It has been almost 11 years since Richa became a part of the film industry. During her decade long journey in Hindi cinema, she has given many memorable performances and characters like Nagma from ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, Bholi Punjaban from ‘Fukrey’ franchise, Rasila Devi from ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, Maddam from ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, Tara from ‘Chief Minister’ and Hiral Gandhi from ‘Section 375: Willing or Forced’ and many others.
However, Richa is not close to any of them and she explains why.
She said, “I feel like none of these characters are close to me because I move too fast. I give it my all and if you notice, all these characters have very different values.
Talking about the characters she played, she said, “Nagma is a fighter, Bholi is a gangster.
Rasila is a gentle-hearted woman, who stays away from fights…Devi is a victim of circumstances in her life. Hiral, Madhuri or Tara, all are very different characters.
However, he is happy playing so many characters.(IANS)
