Big update regarding jailed Manish Sisodia
New Delhi: The debate on the bail plea of senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia could not be completed even on Monday. Arguments will be presented in this matter once again on Tuesday. The bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti asked several questions to Additional Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju, appearing for the Enforcement Directorate. During this time, the court also said that no one can be kept in jail indefinitely.
During the hearing on the bail plea, Justice Khanna said that a person cannot be kept in jail indefinitely just because the hearing on the charges has not started in the trial court. Justice Khanna said, ‘Why has the debate on the charges not started? You can’t keep someone in jail forever just because you don’t have the confidence to plead charges. If the charge sheet has been filed then the debate should begin.
After this, the ASG also told the Supreme Court that it has been decided to make Aam Aadmi Party also an accused in the liquor scam. On this, the court has asked to clarify on Tuesday whether AAP will face similar or different charges. Earlier, when the hearing started, the court said that the last time it had asked some questions, they were not conclusions, but questions were asked to understand something. On this ASG said that this is the era of active media. It is noteworthy that the court had asked some questions to the ED regarding the evidence against Sisodia.
