RAIPUR: A cache of liquor found in 2 four-wheelers
Raipur: Two accused of illegally transporting liquor have been arrested. According to the information, the Arang police team received information that near village Paragaon Nisada Mod under Arang police station area, two persons were keeping liquor in different four-wheelers and were planning to go somewhere. On which, under the direction of senior officers and under the leadership of station in-charge Arang, a team of police station Arang went to the said place, identified the four-wheeler and persons of similar appearance mentioned by the informer, identified them and arrested them. During interrogation, the persons revealed their names to be Tikeshwar Yadav and Ravi Shankar Verma resident of Durg.
When the team members searched both the four-wheelers, liquor was found in the vehicle. When the team members demanded valid documents from both the accused regarding the possession/transportation of liquor, efforts were being made to mislead the team members by not presenting any kind of document. On which accused Tikeshwar Yadav and Ravi Shankar Verma were arrested and 144 pavas of country liquor worth about Rs 15,000/- and four-wheeler vehicles used in liquor transportation number CG/07/BY/3141 Pickup Bolero and CG/07/C were recovered from their possession. M/2874 Matador was seized and action was taken against the accused in Arang police station under crime number 646, 647/23, section 34(2) of the Excise Act.

(01) Ravi Shankar Verma Father Late. Sonsay Verma, age 34 years, resident of Camp 1, Arjun Nagar, behind Bhilai cremation ground, police station cantonment, district Durg.
(02) Tikeshwar Yadav, father Itwari Yadav, age 19 years, resident of Ghasidas Nagar, behind Jamul police station, Jamul district, Durg.
