Rajeev Chandrashekhar said- Government will start setting up Bharat Semiconductor Research Center in 2024
New Delhi (ANI): Chandrashekhar said a very important part of this is to create the capability within India to become a leader in semiconductor research for the coming 10 years. Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrashekhar on Friday said that in collaboration with industry and academia, the Ministry of Electronics and IT will start setting up the India Semiconductor Research Centre. 2024.
He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to involve Indians in the leadership of semiconductor research.
“PM Narendra Modi has a dream that India becomes a semiconductor nation, India becomes a global power in semiconductors and electronics and for this a large number of things have been implemented in the last 15 months,” he said.
Chandrashekhar said that a very important part of this is to create the capability within India to be a leader in semiconductor research for the coming 10 years. “To develop that institution, India Semiconductor Research Center has worked for the last 3 months and have created a design, purpose and scope that will be a private-public partnership with the largest academic institutions and most renowned research institutes of the world. As in India. They will partner and create a semiconductor research centre,” he said.
“The design, the area it should focus on etc. are all written by experts today and put together in a high quality report. How the center should be and look like has been put in a report and we will submit this report to the government for approval. I hope that in the year 2024, we should see the beginning of this institution take shape,” Chandrashekhar said.
The minister said that there will be no restriction on the investment that the institute will require. (ANI)
