Police Memorial Day: Heartfelt tribute paid to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the martyr’s memorial.
Raigarh. Today, on the occasion of Police Memorial Day, like every year, Raigarh Collector and SSP, along with top officials and soldiers, paid tribute to the immortal martyrs in the martyr memorial courtyard of Police Line Raigarh and paid homage to the families of the martyrs. On October 21, 1959, 10 CRPF soldiers were martyred in the ambush of the Chinese army in Ladakh.
“Police Martyrs Day” is celebrated every year on 21st October across the country to remember the sacrifices of these heroes and take inspiration from them. According to the traditions of police organizations, Martyr’s Day program was organized in the dignified presence of martyr families at the Martyr Memorial premises located in Police Line Urdna,
Raigarh. In the program, first of all, Senior Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar honored 188 officers and employees of all provinces, union territories and paramilitary forces of the country who were martyred from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023, by reading out their designations and their names,
after which Collector Raigarh Mr. Karthikeya Goyal, Senior Superintendent of Police Raigarh Sadanand Kumar, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh SP Ashutosh Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Ms. Stylo Mandavi and the present officers and soldiers along with the families of the martyrs paid tribute to the immortal martyrs by offering flower circles at the Martyr Memorial.
The officers present in the courtyard and the soldiers participating in the parade together paid homage to the martyrs by keeping their arms and heads bowed in mourning and observing silence for 2 minutes. Officials including the Collector and SSP honored the martyred woman and her family members by blowing shawls,
presenting quinces and bunches of flowers, inquired about their well-being and after the program, bid farewell to them after lunch with the martyred family members in the police line. Collector Raigarh Karthikeya Goyal, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Sadanand Kumar, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh SP Mr. Ashutosh Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Ms. Stylo Mandavi, Additional SP Raigarh Mr. Sanjay Mahadeva, SDOP Dharamjaygarh Deepak Mishra, DSP Mrs. Nikita Tiwari, Mrs. Anamika Jain, SDOP Kharsia were present in the program.
Prabhat Patel, Assistant Fighter 6th Corps, Mr. Suresh Lakra, Mr. Airman Khalkho, Mr. Kunjram Chauhan, Trainee DSP Aman Lakhisrani, Fighter Nagarsena B. Kujur, Protected Inspector Amit Singh, Company Commander Rajesh Khunte, City Inspector Shanip Ratre, Vijay Chelak, Prashant Rao Aher, Ramkinkar Yadav, Sitarat Dhruv and officers and jawans of Police Line and 6th Battalion were present.
