Painful death of a young man due to drowning in Shipra river
Ujjain (MP): The series of deaths of people due to drowning in Shipra river continues. On Sunday, a young man who had come to visit Shri Mahakaleshwar temple died due to drowning in Shipra river at Ramghat. The youth was a resident of Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh.
Mahakal police station said that 35-year-old Santosh, son of Swaraj Yadav, resident of village Sirawali, Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, used to work in a solar plant being built near Susner along with his uncle Vasudev’s son Dinesh Yadav. Both brothers were going to the village on Sunday to celebrate Dussehra. Both of them had come to Ujjain on Sunday afternoon by taking a bus. From here one had to go to Mathura and then to Kasganj via train.
Since it was an evening train, both of them reached Ramghat to take a bath in the Shipra river before visiting the Mahakal temple. Here Santosh had gone down to take bath in the river, Dinesh was sitting on the ghat. Meanwhile, Santosh went into deep water and started drowning. When Dinesh raised an alarm, the divers present at the ghat jumped into the river and pulled Santosh out. However, by then he had died.
Dinesh told the police that Santosh was married. He has his parents, brother, wife and three children in the village. On receiving information about Santosh’s drowning, officials of the solar plant company from Susner also reached Ujjain and informed his family about the accident.
