CCTV cameras will be installed to monitor voting, checking will be done strictly
Raipur. The Election Commission is fully prepared for the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections 2023. Voting is to be held in the state in the first phase on November 7 and in the second phase on November 17. Regarding the preparations for the elections, today Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Apoorva Toppo shared information regarding the security and facilities of the polling stations in the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. He said that voting will take place under CCTV surveillance in 50% of the polling stations.
One CCTV camera will be installed in each of 11,855 polling stations in the state. There is proper network in all these places. In the first phase, there will be direct live web casting in 2430 polling stations. Monitoring will be done from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer. Teams have been deployed for the day of polling. Last time CCTV was installed in 30% of the polling stations. This time there has been an increase of 20%. Let us tell you that a total of 24,109 polling booths have been made in the state. Wherever CCTV is to be installed, that polling station has been selected. Our service providers are going there and checking the network and infrastructure. The complete report will come in three days. State level and district level teams have been deployed to accomplish this work. Our webcams will be installed in the polling stations. It will be started in the morning before polling.
Which will be monitored from the Control and Command Center in the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer. Complete setup has been done. Monitoring will be done from 18 TVs, 18 laptops. Live monitoring of all polling stations will be done at the central level on poll day. A complete review of the polling center will be done. If it is felt that something needs improvement or some facility is needed, then instructions will be given to the Rapid Response Team for the same. In the first phase of voting, there will be live web casting in 2430 polling stations. Its control will be on three levels, it will be with the DEO, it will be with the CEO and it will be at the ECI level. The polling station can be seen from all three levels. Our aim is to conduct fair and free voting. Therefore, every measure is being taken to ensure fair voting, hence live web casting will be done in 50% of the polling centres.
