Car collides with tanker, 12 people die on the spot

On Thursday morning, an SUV hit a tanker parked on the road in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, killing 12 people in the car and seriously injuring one.

Police said the accident occurred on the outskirts of the district headquarters Chikkaballapur town.

Sources said that the SUV was going from Bagepalli to Chikkaballapur when the driver hit a tanker parked on the road, resulting in the death of 12 passengers, including four women, on the spot. He said one person was seriously injured and is being treated at a nearby hospital.
