Like our ancestors, we will not tolerate exploitation
Jharkhand. Memorial Day was celebrated in the village of Amar Shaheed Sardar Gaya Munda in Atkedih Tola of Kuda village of the block area. A martyr fair was organized on this occasion. An orchestra was organized in the night, in which there was a competition between groups of Mundari and Nagpuri artists. Thousands of people enjoyed Mundari and Nagpuri songs and dance throughout the night. Khunti MLA Neelkanth Singh Munda arrived with his supporters at 12 noon.
Hundreds of people, including the MLA, worshiped Pathalgadi in the memory of Gaya Munda and garlanded his life-size statue. After which, in the function organized at the Mini Stadium, MLA Neelkanth Singh Munda, while discussing the heroic story of Sardar Gaya Munda and his family, said that our ancestors did not tolerate exploitation.
This is the reason that when the British tried to snatch away the rights and privileges of the tribals, Birsa Munda, Gaya Munda and other brave martyrs countered the British ammunition with traditional bows and arrows and other weapons. He said that neither our ancestors tolerated exploitation nor will we.
He said that our ancestors fought against drug addiction, superstition and other social evils and we too have to fight against the evils prevalent in our society. He said that when we are celebrating Amrit Mahotsav in the 75th year of independence, the respect that our martyrs should have received has not been given till date, but we have tried to ensure that the martyrs are given respect. He said that before becoming MLA, when he used to visit the villages and martyr sites of martyrs, the dream of developing martyr villages had arisen in his mind. After becoming MLA, from the year 2000 till now, there has been success in changing the image of martyr villages and martyr places.
Before this, song and dance groups of folk artists welcomed the MLA in a traditional manner. In the program, Zilla Parishad member Dayamani Mundu, Mukhiya Amar Munda, Gaya Munda’s descendant Ramay Munda, BDO Suleman Mundri, Kashinath Mahato, Vinod Nag, Suresh Jaiswal, Dasai Munda, Loknath Munda, Samrai Munda, Hari Munda, village head of Kolomda Arjun Pahan were included in the program. A large number of people were present.
