Woman murdered for demanding fare, husband and wife arrested
Meerut. The Kankarkheda police team of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh has arrested a husband and wife for allegedly strangulating a landlady to death. An officer gave this information.
The accused have been identified as Nikhil and his wife Aarti, residents of Bamdoli village of Baghpat. On October 26, landlady Ritu (55) was strangled to death by husband and wife tenant in her house at night when they demanded the outstanding rent.
City Superintendent of Police Piyush Singh said, “During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Nikhil lived as a tenant in Ritu’s house. We came to know that there were some disputes between Nikhil and Ritu on the issue of house rent and other transactions. Was.”
ASP said, upon continuous interrogation, both the accused have accepted their involvement in the murder case. After this he was arrested under appropriate sections of the law.
ASP said that accused Nikhil has confessed to the crime. During interrogation he told that “The deceased was living in Ritu’s house on rent for a long time. The deceased Ritu was constantly pressurizing her for the rent of the house. I did not have money for the rent of the house. On the day of the incident, I told the same thing. There was an argument between the two regarding this. And later, along with my wife and my cousin, I strangled Ritu to death and fled from the spot.”
ASP said that two accused have been arrested. While efforts are being made to arrest other accused. Will be arrested soon.
