6 bookies arrested, Raipur police raided Bhilai
Raipur. Raipur Police has arrested 6 accused from Bhilai, who in the name of CCTV camera agency and online marketing, made transactions worth crores of rupees by deceiving youth and businessmen by using their accounts for Mahadev Satta App.
Police have detained Devesh Singh Chauhan, a resident of Bhilai Kohka, along with Shailendra Singh alias Sunny of Bhilai, Zion Pal, Ramkripal Sahu, Harish Verma and Kaushal Prasad Lahere of Marwahi. In this racket, an accused named Devesh Singh Chauhan is the master mind of the gang.
Devesh Singh Chauhan had tricked the brother of Raipur Municipal Corporation councilor Deepak Jaiswal and made a transaction of Rs 2 crore from his account within 24 hours.
After which the councilor had lodged a complaint in the month of August. A case of fraud by Devesh Singh Chauhan and his gang came to light in the country, after which the cyber cell took swift action on the complaint lodged at Azad Chowk police station and busted the gang. Chhattisgarh laws have been made to take action against the accused bookies. Sections 7 and 8 of the Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 have also been added.
