Vaibhav Gehlot appears before ED, will be interrogated again
Rajasthan. CM’s son and RCA president Vaibhav Gehlot appeared before the ED in Delhi on Monday. ED interrogated for six hours in two phases. On the other hand, after the first round of questioning, Vaibhav said – No foreign transaction took place, FEMA case does not arise.
According to ED sources, Vaibhav has submitted documents of business relationships. Cross verification of points related to the case and points of complaint was done. During the investigation, a demand has been made to clarify the situation at every point. ED has called on 16th November. On October 25, ED had summoned Vaibhav Gehlot for questioning in the case of violation of the Foreign Exchange Regulatory Act (FEMA). Vaibhav had asked for time till October 30 to appear. After the opinion of the lawyers, Vaibhav has appeared before the ED with the documents related to the companies.
Inquiry on money laundering and Mauritius links
The main focus of questioning of Vaibhav is investing money in shell companies, sending money abroad through Mauritius and money laundering. Vaibhav’s company is accused of sending Rs 100 crore from a shell company to Mauritius. In June, Rajya Sabha MP Kirori Lal Meena had complained about this to the ED.
