Abdul Muttalib’s condition was particularly critical, necessitating his transfer to the Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh for specialized medical care.
The motive behind this brutal attack appears to be rooted in personal disputes. Just three months before the incident, attacker Abdul Kalam was sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case. Reports suggest that he was embroiled in disputes with his own sons over land issues. Tragically, the people he targeted in the attack were reportedly associated with his estranged sons, adding to the existing tension in the prison environment.

It is notable that three of the four prisoners who were victims of this violent clash were jailed for being involved in an entirely different criminal case. He was recently jailed for his role in attacking a police team during an operation against fake currencies and fake gold in No. 2 Ahmedpur area of Tinithengia, Banglamora.
This disturbing incident highlights the challenges faced by authorities in maintaining order and security within correctional facilities. This clash is a stark reminder of the need for enhanced security measures and conflict resolution strategies within the prison system. The injured prisoners now face a challenging road to recovery, while addressing the underlying issues that led to this violent outbreak to prevent a recurrence of such incidents in the future.
