Commercial LPG cylinder prices increased in cities
New Delhi: In a significant development, oil companies have implemented a substantial increase in the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders, which will impact consumers in major Indian cities. The price adjustment, which came into effect on November 1, has raised concerns among commercial users, as they now face higher costs for their energy needs.
Now in the capital Delhi, after an increase of Rs 101.50, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has become Rs 1,833, which reflects the new rate. Among the four major metropolitan areas, Mumbai is the most economically favorable, where a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder costs Rs 1,785.50. In contrast, Chennai is at the other end of the spectrum with the highest price at Rs 1,999.50, while Kolkata falls in between at Rs 1,943.
It is important to note that these price adjustments relate exclusively to 19 kg commercial cylinders, which will have no impact on domestic LPG cylinder prices. Domestic LPG cylinder rates have remained stable, providing some relief to families.
In Delhi, the price of domestic LPG cylinder remains at Rs 903, while in Kolkata, a 14 kg domestic cylinder is available at Rs 929. Mumbai residents can get a domestic LPG cylinder for Rs 902.5, and the price in Chennai is Rs 918.5, giving consumers predictable prices. In their monthly budget.
Interestingly, this recent increase in commercial LPG gas cylinder prices comes after another major increase on October 1 when the prices of a 19 kg cylinder were increased by Rs 209. In October, the retail selling price of commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi increased from Rs 1,731.50 to the current Rs 1,833, raising concerns of commercial users who are already struggling with rising costs. During this entire period, domestic cylinder prices remained unaffected, providing some relief to households.
Notably, the price of commercial LPG cylinder saw a decline in September when oil marketing companies reduced the price by Rs 157. After this adjustment, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder became Rs 1,522.50 in Delhi and Rs 1,636 in Kolkata. August saw a cut of Rs 100 in the price of a commercial LPG gas cylinder, indicating a trend of price volatility, which has affected businesses and industries dependent on commercial LPG.
