Raigarh: Two unknown thieves had stolen two new electric geysers kept on display outside the electronic shop near Kevadbari bus stand under Kotwali police station area. Kotwali police traced the two suspected thieves seen in CCTV within 24 hours, seized two geysers of Captain Company stolen from both the accused and sent them to jail for the crime of theft.
According to the information, on the night of 2nd November, Natwarlal Goyal, a resident of Kevadbadi bus stand near Raigarh police station, filed an application in the police station and filed a report that in his organization Platinum Sales, electronic items have been kept for display in front of the shop gate during Diwali. . On the evening of 1 November, when the shop employee went to take the electric geysers kept outside the shop to show to the customer, he came to know that two new geysers had been stolen by some unknown person. On the report of institute director Natwarlal Goyal, a crime of theft was registered against an unknown accused in the police station and taken up for investigation.
Station in-charge Kotwali Inspector Shanip Ratre and Hamrah staff went to the spot and interrogated nearby shopkeepers and checked the CCTV footage. Two suspicious persons were seen in the CCTV footage, Kotwali police immediately got involved in locating them, within 24 hours of receiving information about the incident, both the suspects – Akash Behera and Mohammad Aslam were taken into custody by the Kotwali police staff and brought to the police station. Suspect Akash Behera works every day as a picker of kabaddi items outside the shops in the city and Mohammed Aslam runs a fruit stall near Kewabadi. After strict questioning of both of them regarding geyser theft outside the shop, both of them confessed to the theft, on whose example two 3 liter geysers of Crypton Company worth ₹ 10,000 were recovered from the possession of the accused. Accused – (1) Mohammad Aslam, father Abdul Sattar, age 44 years, resident of Bajirao Maharapara police station, Jutmil Raigarh (2) Akash Behera, father Ganesh Behera, age 25 years, resident of Bisipara Ward No. 07, Bargarh (Orissa), outside Hal Muqam Railway Station, Raigarh yesterday afternoon. He has been arrested for the crime of JMFC Raigarh, produced on remand in the court and lodged in jail.
