A cart, 1 woman and 2 girls…whoever saw them got scared
Gorakhpur: On Sunday, in Maheva of Ramgarhtal police station area of Gorakhpur, a sweeper killed his first wife by hitting her on the head with a crowbar. He also killed two daughters. Thinking that all three were dead, he was going to throw them on a cart when someone informed the police. The police admitted the injured daughters to the medical college. Where his condition is critical. The police have taken the accused into custody and recovered the crowbar used in the murder.
Umesh Nishad, a resident of Maheva of Ramgarhtal police station area, is a sweeper in the Municipal Corporation. He drives a garbage truck. Umesh also has a lot of property. He was married to Poonam, a cashier. About 13 years ago, after a dispute between husband and wife, Umesh left Poonam and got married for the second time. On the other hand, Poonam had gone to court for her rights. During this time she was living in her maternal home. On the other hand, the court, while giving its verdict in favor of Poonam, had ordered to give her a room in Maheva’s house.
It is alleged that Poonam went to the house in Maheva with her two daughters on Sunday afternoon to take possession of her share of the room. When she arrived there was no one at home. She climbed the railing and opened the gate. The lock of the room was also broken. Umesh’s second wife was trying to take out her belongings and set them on fire when Umesh arrived. It is alleged that he hit his wife and two daughters on the head with a crowbar.
Umesh was married to Poonam, daughter of Ramgati, resident of Khazanchi of Gulriha area, in the year 2002. Umesh is a sanitation worker in the Municipal Corporation. Due to dispute between husband and wife, Poonam was separated from her husband 16 years ago and was living in her maternal home with daughter Tanuja, Anamika and a son.
Poonam’s father had divided his inheritance into three parts, one part in the name of elder son Surendra, the other in the name of Virendra and wife Kalavati. After Ramgati’s death a few years ago, Kalavati transferred her share of the land to her daughter Poonam.
There is a dispute going on with Poonam’s brothers because 1600 square feet of valuable land on the road is in Poonam’s name and possession. About four months ago, Poonam had a dispute with her brother’s wife regarding land. When the matter came to Gulriha police station on resolution day, there was a dispute between the sister-in-law and sister-in-law. In this, the police had challaned both of them for disturbing the peace.
On the other hand, Umesh is living his life after getting married for the second time after a dispute with his first wife. On the other hand, Poonam had claimed damages and expenses in the court against her husband. The court ruled in his favor and decided to give him a room in Maheva’s house. It is alleged that even after the court’s decision, Umesh did not want to give a room in the house to his first wife.
The sweeper murdered his first wife. He also killed two daughters. Thinking that all three were dead, he came down with the bodies from the first floor and was carrying them on a handcart to throw them away when the people of the locality informed the police. He had just reached about 200 meters away from the house when the police caught him.
All three were sent to the hospital where the woman died. Whereas seeing the serious condition of both the daughters, they were sent to the medical college. ASP/CO Manush Pareek, who arrived on information, inspected the spot. Told that the crowbar used in the murder has been recovered.
