Expenditure observer inspected Pohri Assembly

Shivpuri. Expenditure observer of Karera and Pohri assembly, Dr. Kavyadeep Joshi, conducted a surprise inspection of Sirsaud SST block of Pohri assembly constituency on Tuesday and instructed the team to work with full caution. Expenditure Observer Dr. Kavyadeep Joshi inspected the daily account, cash register and bank register of the election expenditure of the candidates of Pohari assembly constituency and asked to maintain the election expenditure account register as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission. He said that separate and correct accounts of all expenses will have to be maintained in the register.

Every candidate will have to file the accounts of his election expenses with the District Election Officer within 30 days of the declaration of the election. The entire amount will have to be paid through cheque/draft, RTGS/NEFT through a separately opened bank account. The maximum limit of expenditure for an assembly candidate has been fixed at Rs 40 lakh. Every candidate will be required to get the expenditure register inspected by the expenditure observer at least three times during the election campaign period. If any candidate fails to submit the expenditure account within the prescribed time limit, then action will be taken against him under the Representation of the People Act 1951 and he will be declared ineligible following due procedure and will be debarred for a period of 3 years.
