Boy dies by suicide in standing express train

Mumbai: A 15-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide inside an express train parked at Bandra Terminus here, police said on Tuesday.

An official said that the boy was found hanging in bogie number S7 of Dehradun Express parked on platform number 3 of the station on Sunday night.

He said that a report of sudden death was registered on Monday.

The police are yet to establish the identity of the boy and ascertain the reason for the extreme step, the officer said.

After examining the CCTV footage of the area, it was found that the boy had been roaming there for the past several days, he said, adding that investigation was underway to trace the boy’s family.
