The guard went to defecate, the prisoner escaped

Bilaspur: A prisoner who had been brought to Sims Hospital for medical treatment managed to escape by cutting through his handcuffs. The fugitive inmate is currently the subject of a search operation, and the guard responsible for his custody has been suspended. According to available information, Sarfaraz Ahmed, a prisoner from Rajatalab Raipur incarcerated in Central Jail Bilaspur, was admitted to SIMS Hospital on November 6 due to a finger injury. Jail guard Bhuvaneshwar Paikra was tasked with monitoring him from the previous night until this morning. At approximately 6:30 in the morning, the prisoner eluded his restraints and fled from his hospital bed by cutting through the handcuffs.

Guard Bhuvaneshwar explained that he had to temporarily leave the prisoner handcuffed due to the need for the prisoner to use the restroom. Upon returning, he discovered that the inmate had escaped after freeing himself from the handcuffs. In response to this incident, the jail superintendent suspended the guard, and efforts are underway to locate the escaped prisoner. This search involves reviewing CCTV footage from the hospital and its vicinity. The Civil Lines Police have registered a case related to the matter.
