Tobacco and gutkha worth Rs 45 lakh seized, investigation team seized trucks
Gaurela pendra Marwahi. The GST team has taken major action in the district. A huge quantity of tobacco and gutkha has been seized from three trucks. The value of seized tobacco and gutkha is more than Rs 45 lakh. Due to absence of bill of lading and eway bill of seized goods, a huge fine of Rs 48 lakh 45 thousand 322 has been imposed. Raj Niwas brand pan masala was being transported from Delhi to Bangalore (Karnataka) in three trucks.
The fine was imposed on the basis of the goods seized in all three trucks. On the basis of the goods seized in the first truck, a fine of approximately Rs 16 lakh 17 thousand 18, Rs 16 lakh 14 thousand 152 in the second truck and Rs 16 lakh 14 thousand 152 in the third truck was also imposed. Let us tell you that recently, during election checking, FST and district administration stopped trucks and conducted a thorough investigation at Kabir Chabutra Barrier on the border of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh under Gaurela police station. During investigation, there was lack of documents for the salmon, tobacco and gutkha kept in it and also it appeared suspicious due to absence of Eway Bill and there was suspicion of tax evasion in large quantities.
