Humanity sacrificed in superstition! Woman murdered on suspicion of being a witch
Guwahati: A woman was allegedly killed on suspicion of being a witch in Assam’s Kokrajhar district. Officials gave this information on Monday. The incident was recorded at Bhogjhara Samarpur village in Gossaigaon area in Kokrajhar district of Assam and the deceased woman has been identified as Marshila Murmu.
After the incident came to light on Monday, the villagers caught a person named Lakhan Tudu, a resident of Phulkumari village of the same area, on suspicion of being involved in the murder of the woman and handed him over to the police. Police have claimed that he has confessed to killing Murmu in an intoxicated state.
Earlier in September, unknown miscreants had beaten an old woman to death on suspicion of being a witch. This incident took place in Goalpara district
