Ishaan Khattar’s Pippa makers apologize
Pippa is a biographical war film that was recently released and it stars Ishaan Khattar, Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli. Amidst the good response, Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman recently came into controversy over one of Pippa’s songs. The popular singer and composer performed Bengali poet Nazrul Islam’s patriotic song Karar Oi Lauho Kopat for the war drama. However, it came under criticism after netizens disliked it. Now, the makers have issued a statement for the same.
Roy Kapur Films shared an apology statement on its Instagram regarding the controversy surrounding AR Rahman’s rendition of Nazrul Islam’s patriotic song Karar Oi Lauho Kopat in Pippa.
The statement read, “In view of the current debate surrounding the song ‘Karaar Oy Lauho Kopat’, the producers, directors and composers of the film Pippa wish to clarify that our rendition of the song is an honest artistic interpretation, which has only been initiated by Has gone. “After acquiring the necessary adaptation rights from the estate of Late Shri Kazi Nazrul Islam.”
